Although it’s important to always make sure your vehicle has a regular car service, there are other important tips you should know about when riding your bike. It’s easy to underestimate the benefits of a systematic approach to writing a motorbike, but the most experienced riders will tell you that it is a safety first approach which will give you the most enjoyment.

- The first point of your safety system should be to check your bike completely before you start your trip. So, first check your tyres and wheels and make sure that the air pressure is appropriate and that your tread spokes bearings and breaks are all in good condition with no signs of cracking or damage of any sort.
- Next, take sure your helmet is checked for signs of damage or uneven wear and tear. The straps should be in pristine condition without any fraying and you should always put your hell on before getting on for motorcycle. - Make sure it is easy to see you. This means wearing clothing which is easily visible by other motorists. Your clothing should be light or white coloured and bright and fluorescent if at all possible. Also, your headlights should always be on to increase your visibility and it makes you easier to see in potential blind spots or when travelling in heavy traffic.

- Adjust your riding style to suit the road you are travelling on. For instance asphalt can break up or become uneven in icy conditions, whereas a cement road may be less slippery but will contain grooves to allow water run-off. You need to be careful of changing surfaces and adjust your style accordingly.
- Always drive defensively. This means maintaining a safe speed at all times consistent with driving conditions. Also, be aware of your own skill level and scale down your speed to match. Always assume that other drivers cannot see you and take a safety first approach at all times.
